Served as the economic and administrative center of New York City, Manhattan has been described as the cultural, financial, media, and entertainment capital of the world. Besides, Manhattan has been called a city of architecture art palace. A great many world-renowned landmarks are standing up in Manhattan, including Empire State Building, Rockefeller Center, Chrysler Building, Metropolitan Life Tower and so on. The recently opened One Vanderbilt Tower has also become one of the remarkable landmarks in Manhattan.
This 150,000 m² skyscraper’s roof is 397 m high and its spire is 427 m, making it the city’s fourth-tallest building, after One World Trade Center, 111 West 57th Street, and the Central Park Tower. Moreover, One Vanderbilt Tower is among the world’s 30 tallest skyscrapers. As for structural design, One Vanderbilt Tower is made with glass and terracotta. On the bottom few floors, the top section of the facade slopes upward, meanwhile, the bottom section slopes downward, creating a “diagonal wedge”. Therefore, the lobby area on Vanderbilt Avenue would have a ceiling sloping from 15 to 34 m from west to east.
In addition, One Vanderbilt is connected to Grand Central Station, which magically creates a visual corridor. This visual corridor sets up a public plaza and provides direct access to the station from its lobby. Apart from the art collection exhibited in the lobby, the newly installed LED screen on the wall is widely considered to be the most eye-catching.
With 7.9 m high and 4.8 m wide, this LED display installed on the wall of One Vanderbilt is made by Yaham H3 series T1.27 fine pixel pitch. Benefited from a graphene based cabinet and energy-efficient IC, Yaham H3 series LED screen features with industry leading heat performance, making the average operation temperature of is 8℃ lower than other traditional LED screens. As a media of art communication, any obvious graininess, or other visual issues could dramatically reduce the value of art exhibition. With a gray scale up to 16 bit, Yaham H3 LED display has the ability to deliver true-to-life image reproduction with every pixel performing perfectly and as intended.
Manhattan, as the most economically powerful city and the leading financial center of the world, has always being the focus of all over the world. In this awesome city, Yaham has joined forces with One Vanderbilt Tower, taking lead in the world’s cutting-edge fashion of the art integration of LED display and aesthetic architecture.
